Carolyn George, Psy.D.
My name is Carolyn George and I am a licensed clinical psychologist in the state of Florida. I earned my clinical psychology doctoral degree from the American Psychological Association (APA)-Accredited Florida School of Professional Psychology, during which I completed my internship at Rockland Psychiatric Center in New York. I then went on to complete my postdoctoral residency at the University of South Florida. I am currently employed as a psychologist in a residential treatment program for the Federal Bureau of Prisons. Additionally, I have worked in a variety of mental health settings including a psychiatric hospital, university counseling center and student health center as well as the Department of Veterans Affairs.
I am a Nationally Certified School Psychologist and I have received certifications in hypnosis and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I am also certified as a clinical trauma professional, certified in Critical Incident Stress Management and Prolonged Exposure. My treatment preferences include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, as well as Solution Focused Therapy.
