My name is Heidi Sosa, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Florida. I have a master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from Saint Leo University in San Antonio Florida. While pursuing my graduate degree, I worked for the Department of Children and Families as a Child Welfare Case Manager and shortly after gained employment as a Clinical Therapist at a Residential Foster Home specializing in Adolescents in Motherhood. Most recently I have worked as a Specialized Dialectical Behavioral Therapist in a Private Practice. I have over 6 years’ experience working in non-profit organizations in the Tampa Bay Area that include Head Start, The Crisis Center of Tampa Bay, Lutheran Services and Paxen (Department of Juvenile Justice Diversion Program). I have specialized training in, Trauma- Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Nurturing Parenting and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. I offer both individual and group therapy.
As a licensed therapist, I firmly believe in every person’s inner strength and resiliency in overcoming any obstacles or challenging situations in their lives. As a Hispanic female, I can relate to Hispanic cultural values and spiritual beliefs as well as other culturally diverse groups. My education, and work experience combine for a unique level of appreciation and understanding that helps me connect with people on a more intimate level.
